Pieter A. Grobler
Pieter Alexander Grobler (BCom, BCom (Hons), MCom, DCom, MHRP, MIAC) is Professor of Human Resource Management in the Department of Human Resource Management at the University of South Africa (Unisa). He received his DCom in strategic human resource management from the University of South Africa in 1991. Internationally, he serves as a Director on the International Board of the Society for Advancement of Management in the USA. He is also a member of the international network of researchers at the Centre for European Human Resource Management at the School of Management at Cranfield University, United Kingdom. Additionally he serves on the Editorial Board of the SAM Advanced Management Journal published by the Society for Advancement of Management in the USA and distributed to more than sixty countries. Locally he serves on the Editorial Boards of the South African Journal of Labour Relations and the Southern African Business Review. He is also a reviewer for the South African Journal of Human Resource Management.
Surette Wärnich
Surette Wärnich is a senior lecturer of Human Resource Management in the School of Management Sciences at the University of South Africa (Unisa) and is currently studying for her PhD in Industrial and Organisational Psychology. Surette is a registered psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and is also registered as a Master HR Practitioner in the Generalist category with the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP). She is co-author of Human Resource Management in South Africa, published by Pearson Publishing (South Africa), Contemporary Issues in Human Resource Management: Gaining a competitive advantage by Oxford University Press (Southern Africa) and she has been one of the main authors on this popular Cengage title since its 2nd edition. Surette has also co-authored a number of articles and research reports related to HR practices (with Cranfield in the UK), high performance work practices and stress in the workplace. Surette’s passion lies with onboarding of newcomers in organisations and the use of technology in HR.
Micheal R. Carrell
Dr Carrell is a Professor of Management and former Dean of the College of Business at Northern Kentucky University, located in the greater Cincinnati area. Most of his professional career has been spent in the Louisville area and has included positions as a HR director and labour negotiator. He has held academic positions at California State University, Bakersfield; the University of Nebraska-Omaha; Marshall University; Morehead State University; and the University of Louisville.
Norbert F. Elbert
Dr Norbert Elbert is Emeritus Professor of organisational behaviour and a former Fulbright Scholar at Eastern Kentucky University. He has taught in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, Taiwan and China. Dr Elbert has authored and co-authored several books and articles and also received numerous awards. He previously served as Chair of the Management and Marketing Department at Eastern Kentucky University and has since retired.
Robert D. Hatfield
Dr Robert Hatfield is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programmes and Research at the Gordon Ford College of Business Western Kentucky University. He has spent his entire career focused on human resources. He was a manager of industrial relations for a Fortune 100 company after which he has been in demand as a management consultant, guest speaker, trainer and labour mediator. He has received numerous awards and has served on public and private boards. He has co-authored several books and articles, and he has taught at a number of prestigious universities in the United States.
