Residential Construction Academy: Facilities Maintenance: Maintaining, Repairing, and Remodeling 3rd Edition by Kevin Standiford

Overview

Created in partnership with the Home Builders Institute (HBI), the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the Residential Construction Academy Series is the only program based on the National Skill Standards for residential construction. Step-by-step illustrations and an easy-to-read writing style make RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION ACADEMY: FACILITIES MAINTENANCE, 3E a powerful teaching tool for any facilities maintenance course. This edition uses a straightforward approach to describe common maintenance tasks in detail, topics like carpentry, wiring, groundskeeping, appliance repair, painting, plumbing, and HVAC. Enhanced chapters on basic math and blueprint reading give students the most comprehensive training available. Three new chapters, two on Weatherization and a third on Solar, make this edition critically current as new facilities are built and others retrofitted with an aim toward maximized energy efficiency. Plus, each section emphasizes safety and highlights the skills that employers are searching for, making RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION ACADEMY: FACILITIES MAINTENANCE, 3E the complete resource for developing a solid foundation in facilities maintenance.
