Technical Drawing for Engineering Communication 7th Edition by David E. Goetsch/Raymond L. Rickman/William S. Chalk

Overview

TECHNICAL DRAWING FOR ENGINEERING COMMUNICATION, 7E offers a fresh, modern approach to technical drawing that combines the most current industry standards with up-to-date technologies and software, resulting in a valuable, highly relevant resource you and your students won't want to be without. The book builds on features that made its previous editions so successful: comprehensive coverage of the "total technical drawing experience" that explores both the basic and advanced aspects of engineering and industrial technology and reviews both computer modeling and more traditional methods of technical drawing. Enhancements for the seventh edition include updates based on industry trends and regulations, an all-new chapter on employability skills, and additional content on SolidWorks 3D modeling software for drafting technicians. The end result is a tool that will prepare students with the real-world skills they need for a successful career in CAD, drafting, or design.

David E. Goetsch

Dr. David Goetsch is a member of the American Management Association, the Florida Association of Community Colleges, and the American Society for Quality. He is a past recipient of the U.S. Secretary of Education's Award for Outstanding Technical Program in the United States and the Outstanding Technical Educator Award in Florida. Dr. Goetsch is currently Vice President and Professor Emeritus at Northwest Florida State College.

Raymond L. Rickman

Ray Rickman is a professor of Drafting and Design and Chair of the Industry and Technology Department at Northwest Florida State College.

  • All-new chapters on employability skills, sketching and lettering, and drafting tools modernize the content and provide students with skills and knowledge they can apply immediately.
  • Updated photographs and artwork create a true-to-life experience, illustrating what students will see on the job.
  • Compliance with the latest ANSI standards ensures that you are teaching to the most current industry rules and regulations.
  • Additional content on SolidWorks 3D modeling software as well as related drawings and photographs increase the versatility and usability of the book as a resource for a variety of settings.
  • A new section on "rapid prototyping" rounds out the book's already comprehensive coverage.
  • In-depth coverage of mechanical, architectural, and civil drafting is featured, with discipline-specific icons that quickly and clearly denote drawing and math problems that pertain to a student's specific area of study.
  • Modern design practices, standards, and examples are used throughout, giving you confidence you're providing students with a relevant tool they can use.
