Pariksha Singh has been in higher education for over two decades, where student-centred education is her goal.  As a manager of Student Academic Relations, her key focus is based on improving teaching, learning and assessments for courses with large numbers.  Pariksha is currently involved with information and digital literacy for first-year university students, and her primary area of research is to personalise learning for academic information management.  Dealing with cohorts of over 9000 students, technology has become one of the leading resources used for teaching, learning and assessment.  Her focus is to use technology effectively and efficiently to improve the lives of all students.  Pariksha works with a wide range of stakeholders in bridging the gap using Academic Information Management between school and first-year university students.

With her Masters in Information Technology, Pariksha also has several leading global certifications in software testing. Her personal interests involve sports, especially those with fast cars; her dream is to be involved in a Formula 1 race strategy.  She also loves reading, authoring and baking.

Pariksha has contributed extensively to published research on teaching and assessment, lifelong learning, and learning styles. She is passionate about helping narrow the digital literacy divide in South Africa and finding ways to achieve an inclusive module for all students.  Her recent papers have reflected upon the rapid move to online teaching during the pandemic and the lessons learned. She is currently working on ‘The use of Multiple Modalities for Digital Literacy’.
